His musical career going in the mid 1980s when he hooked up having a group who called themselves the World Class Wrecking Cru. The California based group eventually parted ways and Dr Dre continued to become listed on N.W.A with fellow rappers Eazy E and Ice Cube. N.W.A became one of the first groups to begin a new genre of rap music. Dr Dre left the group and Eazy E's record label. He went on to become a solo artist having a totally new style of gangsta rap. The Chronic was Dr Dre's first solo album released with his new record label, Death Row Records. It reached number 3 on the Billboard music chart and has gone triple platinum. Dr Dre went on to create Snoop Dogg's first solo album, Doggystyle, released under the Death Row label. Dr Dre released his second solo album in 1999, which achieved # 2 on the Billboard chart and it has been certified platinum six times. Today Dr Dre is still a fundamental element of the music industry. He is an effective producer and business man. He's appeared in several movies as well.
